Program Structure

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

1. Program Duration

The duration of MHPE Program will be two years. The program will have a total of six contact sessions. Each contact session shall comprise of 10 days of face to face interactive teaching and learning. It requires the participants to study for approximately two hours of notional student effort per day. There will be three contact session in a year.

2.Credit Hours

The program is of 60 credit hours. 

3. Instructional Strategies

Constructivist approach shall be used as educational philosophy. Problem based learning, task based learning and group discussions will be key components.

Contact sessions will have different types of sessions; some will be lectures, group discussions, self study periods and projects.

5.  Medium of Instruction

All assignments and workshops will be in English language.

6.  Workshop in each module with assignments

Approximately two years with 80 weeks of course work and remaining time will be spent for research. Students who fail to complete module will have chance to complete modules in next year’s as well. The timings of each contact session will be from 8am to 5pm.

7.  Assignments

Assignments will only be given to students who will have attended workshop of that module. They will be based on application of knowledge at higher order cognitive skills development.

Each assignment will be awarded one credit hour after it has secured a pass status.

8. Assessment / Objective Structured Teaching Exercise (OSTE) Exam

At the end of contact sessions the students will have an OSTE exam.

Students who fail in OSTE will have to resit exam in next year to pass.

9. Research

Students are expected to work on a research project and write a dissertation on their chosen field of study. The research project shall be equivalent to six credit hours.

10.  Program Evaluation
The evaluation of program will be done by using Kirkpatrick model. Feedback evaluation form will be submitted from all participants and faculty to evaluate the program. Data will be analyzed and statistical analysis performed. DREEM criteria will also be used to assess level of satisfaction among the participants.

11. Academic Quality

 A student must have 100% of the attendance in each workshop module (contact session).
