KMU Annual Health Research Symposium begins from 17-Feb-2012

A two days Annual Research Symposium 2011 organized by Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar will begins from today at Institute of Basic Medical Sciences (IBMS), Sector F-1, Street-9 Near to Shalman Park, Phase-VI  Hayatabad, Peshawar.
 
According to details the KMU Annual Health Research Symposium will be held on Friday-Saturday, Feb 17th - 18th, 2012 at KMUIBMS campus and it is a part of the research capacity development initiative of the university.
  
The objectives of this symposium is to establish a forum for presentation, discussion and formulation of recommendations for issues in health research and health care in Pakistan generally and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa specifically, to disseminate findings of health research undertaken in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, to provide an opportunity to (young) researchers to develop the capacity for preparing and presenting health research papers, to establish a forum for dialogue with health research policy and decision–makers in Pakistan and KHYBER Pakhtunkhwa, and to establish links with expatriate Pakistani health professionals and researchers.
 
  Scientific sessions will also be held in this symposium. In these sessions paper prepared by researchers will be presented. Prizes will be given to the best papers prepared by students. The response to call for abstract has been very encouraging indicating the interest of the health professionals in research.
 
Beside the scientific sessions two special sessions are also planned to present the current issues impeding health research in Pakistan and formulate recommendations to enable medical universities more specifically KMU, to institutionalize health research in health academic institutions and health care system of the country.
